A six-month-old baby was crushed to death by a speeding tractor on the Pune-Nashik highway in Maharashtra’s Rajgurunagar area on Friday. CCTV footage from the area shows that a bike carrying the baby skidded on the road while trying to overtake the tractor.
The passengers of the bike — the rider, a woman and the child — fell on the road after the biker lost control. The six-month-old baby came under the real wheel of the speeding tractor and died on the spot.
Eyewitnesses from the spot said the child was on the woman’s lap before the accident happened.
Primary investigation into the accident revealed that the bike skidded due to unorganised parking and congested road.
